Therapy & Counseling
Therapy at MindMorph is trauma-informed, mindfulness-based individual psychotherapy for adults, offered on its own or alongside psychiatric care, in English or Russian, in person in Lakewood, CO or by secure video for patients in Colorado and Oregon. Sessions run about 50 minutes. You do not need to be taking medication, or to want it, to be seen here.
Therapy without medication
MindMorph is a prescriber-led practice, which makes some people assume a prescription is the price of admission. It is not. Therapy stands on its own here. If at some point you want to talk about medication, the person across from you can have that conversation with real knowledge; if you never do, that is fine. The evaluation asks what you want, not what the practice sells.
Who therapy here is for
Adults dealing with depression and low mood, anxiety and stress, PTSD and complex trauma, OCD and intrusive thoughts, burnout, and the aftermath of expanded-state or psychedelic experiences that still feel unresolved. It suits people who want to understand the self beneath the symptoms rather than only manage them, and people who have done talk therapy before and felt it stayed in their head. It is not an emergency service and not a fit for someone who needs a higher level of care right now; the consultation sorts that out honestly.
Approaches used
No single brand-name protocol for everyone. Methods are matched to you and may include:
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), for the thought patterns that keep anxiety and depression running
- Trauma-focused and somatic therapy, working through the body's stored responses at a pace you can tolerate
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, which treats the critical, protective, and wounded parts of you as parts rather than as the whole; I am IFS Level 1 Certified through the IFS Institute. More about IFS therapy
- Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT)
- Exposure and response prevention (ERP), the first-line therapy for OCD
- Integration therapy and breathwork, including vocal and somatic release work, for embodied awareness and emotional release
Parts work and somatic approaches also run through ketamine preparation and integration, so if you ever move toward that treatment, the therapy does not change hands.
What makes therapy here different
It connects psychology, neuroscience, and the body, and it is delivered by a clinician who is also a psychiatric nurse practitioner. That means a plan can include things a therapy-only office cannot offer directly:
- Lab and genetic testing when biology may be shaping mood and energy
- Nutrition and lifestyle planning
- Mindfulness, breathwork, and somatic awareness taught in session, practiced between sessions
- Sleep and circadian coaching
Therapy does not stop when you leave the room; it continues through your breath and your daily choices. (Results vary for each individual.)
Conditions therapy may support
- Depression and low mood: insight and emotional resilience
- Anxiety and stress: calming mind and body through breath, mindfulness, and grounding
- PTSD and complex trauma: restoring safety through paced processing and nervous-system regulation
- OCD and intrusive thoughts: CBT, mindfulness, and exposure work
- PMDD: the recurring relational and emotional strain of the premenstrual weeks
Therapy in Russian
Sessions are available in Russian as well as English, with the same approaches and the same clinician. For many Russian-speaking patients in Colorado and Oregon, therapy in their first language is the difference between describing a feeling and actually having it in the room.
When therapy and psychiatry work together
Many patients combine therapy with medication management, Spravato, or ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. Because everything is coordinated inside one practice, you do not retell your history to a second office or wait for two clinicians to find a time to talk.
What a first visit looks like
A free consultation by phone or video, then an initial evaluation that reviews your goals, history, and preferences and ends with a plan you have agreed to. Weekly sessions are common at the start; cadence is set together and changes as your needs do. Standard sessions run about 50 minutes.
Cost and insurance
MindMorph is in network with a number of Colorado and Oregon plans for therapy, and provides superbills for plans it is not in network with. Current fees and the insurer lists are on the insurance and payment page; the free consultation clarifies your exact numbers. Coverage cannot be guaranteed.
A safe, inclusive space
MindMorph welcomes adults of all backgrounds, cultures, and identities. The Lakewood office is private and judgment-free, and the video room is the same. Whether this is your first therapy or a return after years of managing alone, you will be met with respect.
Next step
Therapy begins with connection, not pressure. Book a consultation or call (720) 504-2181.
If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. This practice does not provide emergency services.

Hyper-independence is often praised
Never needing anyone is a trait that gets rewarded everywhere, and a story can hide inside it. Self-reliance that formed because relying on someone once went badly looks like strength from the outside and often feels like exhaustion from the inside. The clip, 22 seconds, questions the praise.

Let's talk about anger
Anger as information: what it protects and what it asks for. Anger is the emotion people most often apologize for in a first appointment. The clip's premise is that it is a messenger with a job, usually standing in front of something more vulnerable, and that the useful question is what it is….

Let's talk about bottling up emotions
Where pressed-down feelings actually go, and what release can look like. Bottling up is a skill most people learned because expressing feelings once cost too much. The body keeps the ledger: a jaw that never unclenches, a chest that braces before hard conversations, a stomach that answers the phone….
Questions
Trauma-informed, mindfulness-based individual therapy for adults, drawing on CBT, somatic and trauma-focused work, Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work, MBCT, ACT, ERP for OCD, and breathwork, matched to you rather than one protocol for everyone. Sessions are in person in Lakewood or by secure video across Colorado and Oregon, in English or Russian.
Therapy stands on its own here. Nothing about working with a prescriber-led practice obligates you to take medication or to discuss it. If you later want that conversation, the same clinician can have it with real knowledge of your history; if you never do, your care is unaffected. The choice stays yours throughout.
Therapy, evaluation, and psychiatric care are all available in Russian as well as English, with the same clinician and the same approaches. Russian-speaking adults anywhere in Colorado or Oregon can be seen by secure video, and in person at the Lakewood office. Ask for Russian when you book.
Parts work in the Internal Family Systems (IFS) tradition and somatic, body-based approaches run through therapy at MindMorph, including ketamine preparation and integration. I completed the IFS Institute's Level 1 training and hold its Level 1 certificate. The full IFS Certified Therapist credential is a separate, later step that I do not claim. Details are on the IFS therapy page.
